How to reach the desk

The Recovery Desk is an independent English-language publication about addiction and recovery in the pharmacy profession. It runs no contact form and publishes no phone number or postal address. Readers who wish to reach the desk do so by writing to the editorial address listed at the foot of every entry. Messages are read editorially by the people who prepare the entries.

Reporting an error

The most useful messages describe a specific problem in a specific entry. When writing, include as much of the following as possible:

• The title of the entry concerned.
• The URL of the page, if you read it online.
• The passage or sentence that contains the error.
• The source or reason you believe the passage is wrong.

Reports may concern a title, a URL, a passage, or a cited source. A correction is simpler when the exact wording is quoted. If the error concerns a source, naming the correct source is enough; the desk verifies every correction before it is made.

What happens next

Every message is read. Errors that are confirmed are corrected in the entry, and the text is adjusted so that it states the facts plainly. Corrections that change the meaning of an entry are noted in the entry itself. Messages that raise a broader question may shape a future entry, but the desk does not enter into correspondence about individual cases.

What the desk does not answer

The Recovery Desk is not a treatment provider and gives no medical advice. It explains how the support system for pharmacists works; it does not operate any part of that system. The desk does not answer requests for professional referrals, does not recommend treatment programs, monitoring arrangements, or individual practitioners, and does not respond to service requests of any kind. A pharmacist who needs help should contact the state program or the support structures described in the relevant entries. Those organizations, not this publication, answer such requests.

Messages on other subjects, including editorial questions about coverage, are read, but a reply is not guaranteed.
