NCPRN Review is a new, independent editorial publication. We are not a registry, a certification body, a lookup service or the continuation of any earlier organisation, and nothing on this site should be read as a claim to that effect.

Our subject is narrow and practical: how short letter strings, acronyms and web addresses acquire meanings, and how a careful reader can check those meanings before relying on them. That work sits in three rubriques. Decoding looks at how four and five letter strings become names and how to test what an acronym plausibly stands for. Provenance sets out methods for investigating an expired or dormant domain before anything is built on it. Craft concerns how small independent publications choose their scope, their sourcing rules and their own identity without borrowing authority they have not earned.

Our editorial rule is simple: state what is known, name where it came from, and mark clearly where knowledge stops. We avoid inventing history for a name, and we avoid presenting inference as fact. Where a question cannot be settled from public sources, we say so rather than filling the gap.
